Until July 2004, Ken Graham headed global leadership development for the upstream business of the Royal Dutch/Shell Group of Companies. Ken continues to serve Shell, but no longer from the head office in The Hague. For Shell, Ken is currently building a development program for experienced leaders who don't have the career trajectory to get invited to fast track program offers. He continues to take these skill practice programs to participants in many of the 56 countries in which EP leaders and employees work.

Ken is building his leadership coaching and development consulting practice. Current clients are both North American and European. Recent Shell consulting has been in the Russian Far East, Asia, and Europe. Ken's favorite professional activity is public speaking in conference and program settings. Coaching executives and building/delivering leader development sessions are the other two focal points of his consulting.

Prior to joining Shell in The Hague in 2001, Ken built a consulting practice in leadership development, organization change, and executive coaching that included financial services, high technology (some software, more hardware), and overnight air shipment companies as clients. Leaders from USAA, Motorola, Boeing, IBM, Dell, Applied Materials, Intel, and FedEx serve as examples.

Ken has lead leadership development and talent management for two other large firms (Allstate Financial Services and Beatrice Companies), leadership development for two quality business schools, (Penn State and University of Texas at Austin), and was a co-founder of the leadership development and simulation firm Burgundy Group. For two of his eight years with Allstate, he led Strategic Planning for the firm.

A primary interest for Ken is in how mature companies successfully change. Individual leadership development preparation can add leverage. Organization change has these leaders improving their leadership as they lead, a favorite area of emphasis for Ken. Another such area is leaders teaching all staff how a given firm increases its profitability.

Ken holds a Ph.D. in Business Strategy from The Pennsylvania State University, a Master's Degree in Logistics, and a Bachelor's degree with Honors in Business. He has worked in or visited over seventy countries, and served in the U.S Army. A single engine airplane pilot since age 20, Ken recently completed a 2000 mile solo flight in the Mackenzie Valley of the Canadian North West Territory.
